Become what you want in past

Some days ago, I was talking with a friend who told me he had some problems in his mind. He got divorced recently, but he was stuck in the past. Remembering and recalling his memories.

In that moment I thought in a metaphore to help him. Then I told him something I think fortunately worked in his mind:
«Imagine you buy a flower. For a while you like it, so you watering it everyday, you look at it, admire it. As the time pass, the flower grows, colorful, lush, healthy. Amazing, beautiful.

The ability we have to pay or not attention to something and to make it grow or not is powerful. But this is a common place. Everybody knows this, I think. You can guess too what happen to the flower if you forget it, just because you bought, for instance, a little sweet fish. Now, every day you only watch the fish, feed him, take care of aquarium, plants, stones and so one. The fish is now happy, shining, healthy.
Well, seems the flower withered. What a obvious conclusion… To say what? …

To remember you about the power we have to make the present into past. In a short time, and because of a lack of attention, the flower became a piece of past, withered. Obviously, if you don’t pay attention to something, something dies. But, at the same time, something can shine around if you want, if you are interested in. It’s simple, not easy. But it’s simple.

A real bad experience, something we would like to erase from our mind but unfortunately we keep going to give it power… Use your power to make all present painful pieces of your life in past. Please find a "fish", moving away from what you don’t want.»

Well, when my friend left me it seemed much happier than before. Maybe he now trys to find his «fish» as a start to reach a little of well being.

Make whatever you want in past, as soon as you can. Even if it takes time. It worth it

O Alfaiate e o Tesouro de Bresa

Uma história antiga conta que na Babilónia vivia Enedim, um alfaiate muito pobre. O homem trabalhava arduamente e também por isso era respeitado e estimado no sítio onde morava. Ano após ano, mês após mês, semana após semana e dia após dia, o alfaiate cortava e costurava a roupa dos clientes dia e noite.

Apesar de muito pobre, Enedim mantinha a esperança de um dia ser muito rico. Só não sabia qual seria o caminho, o que fazer para ficar rico. Se havia gente que encontrava tesouros, como havia ele de fazer o mesmo?
Um dia, quando mais uma vez matutava neste sonho, surgiu à sua porta um mercador grego que vendia tapetes, imagens, pedras outros artefactos. Perdeu-se Enedim na sua análise às bugigangas do mercador até que a sua atenção se concentrou num livro estranho, com caracteres desconhecidos e muitas páginas. O mercador apressou-se a assegurar-lhe que era uma preciosidade e lhe venderia aquela obra por 3 dinares. Era muito dinheiro para o alfaiate. Porém, perante tal raridade e obra tão peculiar, Enedim propôs adquiri-lo apenas com os 2 dinares que possuía. O mercador aceitou logo, afirmando que por aquele preço «era quase de graça».

Recolheu-se o alfaiate para examinar tão exótica aquisição. Parecia não perceber nada, mas, qual não foi o seu espanto quando conseguiu decifrar o título do livro: «O Segredo do Tesouro de Bresa». «Hummmmm. Certamente que aquele livro o conduziria à descoberta do tesouro sonhado», pensou. Não era por acaso que o mercador havia surgido com aquela obra. E continuou a decifrar mais algumas palavras: «O tesouro de Bresa, enterrado pelo génio com o mesmo nome nas montanhas do Harbatol, foi ali esquecido, e ali se acha ainda, até que alguém venha a encontrá-lo.» Uiiiii. O coração do alfaiate pulava de excitação e esperança. «Onde ficariam essas montanhas de Harbatol? Tenho de decifrar tudo para chegar a este tesouro», pensava Henedim.

E assim se lançou ao trabalho. Aquela obra estava escrita em línguas de vários povos, caracteres desconhecidos para o alfaiate, e Enedim foi então obrigado a estudar os hieróglifos egípcios, a língua dos gregos, a dos persas e a dos judeus…

Ao fim de 3 anos e subitamente, Enedim era convidado pelo rei para ser o seu intérprete, face aos seus conhecimentos sobre tantos idiomas. Abandonando a actividade de alfaiate, o ex-alfaiate via-se assim agora a morar numa grande casa, com muitos criados, tinha um gordo rendimento e era respeitado por todos os nobres, que o saudavam educadamente assim que o viam.

Mas como o livro ainda não estava todo decifrado, Enedim continuou o seu empreendimento, na esperança de vir a encontrar a verdadeira riqueza e abastança. Agora, havia chegado ao capítulo dos cálculos, o que o obrigou a estudar matemática com os melhores professores da cidade.
Algum tempo depois, Enedim sabia tanto de matemática que se entregou ao cálculo, design e construção de uma ponte sobre o Eufrates. O rei ficou tão satisfeito com a obra que o nomeou representante da região. O ex-alfaiate era agora um notável da sua cidade, gozando das vantagens associadas a tal cargo: dinheiro, casa maior, mais criados, mais respeito e poder.

Porém, trabalhador e esforçado como era, Enedim empreendia novamente no excêntrico livro para chegar à verdadeira riqueza, a independência total. E pôs-se a decifrar outro capítulo que o levou a estudar religião e as leis do seu país.
Com esses novos conhecimentos, Enedim conseguia assim por direito próprio um lugar entre os intelectuais da sua cidade, adquirindo o estatuto de doutor. Que, por sua vez e perante a sua obra e trabalho, levou o rei a nomeá-lo de primeiro-ministro.

Enedim vivia agora num luxuoso palácio e recebia até visitas de nobres poderosos de todo o mundo. Nesse cargo, o ex-alfaiate pôs em prática os seus conhecimentos e o país desenvolveu-se económica e socialmente. Enedim ganhava agora cerca de 1000 moedas por dia, no seu palácio havia jóias e pérolas de enorme valor.
Mas a felicidade de Enedim não correspondia à sua abastança. Por mais que se esforçasse, não conseguia decifrar a mensagem que aquele livro continha. Afinal, onde estava o tal tesouro? Era um mistério que deixava Enedim desapontado.

Certo dia, um velho sacerdote conversava com Enedim e este, não resistindo, contou-lhe a sua frustração. O mistério do livro não desvendado. O sacerdote riu-se, e depois de um breve silêncio, disse-lhe:
«Estimado Enedim, o tesouro de Bresa já está em vosso poder. Graças a esse livro misterioso adquiristes um grande conhecimento que vos conduziu à riqueza e abastança em que vives.»
Para que se saiba, Bresa quer dizer «saber», e Harbatol «trabalho». Portanto, com estudo e trabalho pode o homem conquistar tesouros maiores do que os achados ou descobertos.

The strange labor world is killing slowly

Labor market is quite strange in these days of crisis. People don’t know what to do to get a job. What is best? What is the best strategy to make an approach? What to highlight? Skills? Experience? Age? Academic degree? Genre? Anyway, it seems to be difficult to make a decision of what to emphasize.

In the comic there is a conversation between Mr. Jones and Mr. Just about a possible available position. “Mr. Jones, do you have a position available for my son? Well there is a vacancy… no knowledge required salary 12,000 per month. Oh, but that’s too much Mr. Jones. Well then… um… there’s another job… really a job for a friend… there are no requirements… he can just start salary 10,000 per month. Mr. Jones, but that’s still too much. I want my son to start from the bottom. Oh well then he starts at the youngest entrant and begins with a salary of 1,500 per month, but then they he needs to have the right skills, experience and evidence and have to pass the exam.”

To perform a simple job a person needs to have a specific training and experience already, but where the novice person needs to obtain it becomes impossible. Someone with the right experience and diplomas becomes neglected.

A person with the diplomas and experience is called overqualified, too old, too young, missing the x factor, wrong sexe or wrong social background (positive discrimination?) not fitting in the team etc.

For example, someone for a secretary job must well accomplish in Marketing and IT, but get paid for a simple secretarial job.

You may also be too young because someone recently applied for a job at 65 agency and was rejected or you are too old when you have more than 10 years of experience.

If you obtain a job for a few hours they require that you have a car. How to pay a car with only a couple of hours work?»
